Orphan accounts in SailPoint are those accounts which are not associated with the active user or identity.
When any user remain in the Organisation, his/her status remains active, as soon as that user leaves the company, his/her status become Inactive. So the accounts related to that inactive user or identity become orphan accounts.
These orphan accounts should be identified and removed from the system other wise these will lead to security issues.
